About auto slider block
A slider block is a small wear pad that lets one drivetrain part glide against another with low friction. On scooters it guides the variator ramp plate, on motorcycles it guides the drive chain along the swingarm, and in gearboxes similar pads ride on the shift forks. They are usually moulded from nylon, acetal or other engineering plastics, sometimes with a metal backing. Buyers compare material, wear resistance, exact dimensions and fit to the vehicle model. Replacing worn blocks restores smooth operation and quietens rattles, so workshops and spares dealers keep them as fast-moving service parts.
Buyer's guide
What to check
- Check length, width, thickness and mounting holes against the original block.
- Look for the material grade, nylon, acetal or PTFE-filled plastic, and its wear resistance.
- Confirm the block suits the exact vehicle model and fitting position.
What to ask the supplier
- Ask for the vehicle models and the OE part number it replaces.
- Ask for the quantity per set, since many assemblies use several blocks.
