Fish masala (मच्छी मसाला) is a coastal Indian spice blend for fish curry, coconut-based or tomato-based, and for marinating fish to grill, pan-fry or air-fry. It also seasons seafood stews and broths, fish biryani and fish pulao, and oven-baked fish tikka. It comes in 100 gms, 250 gms and 500 gms packs. The blend uses red chilies, coriander seeds, turmeric and fennel, hand-selected and roasted; the label's ingredient list reads "Chilli, Mustard seeds, Turmeric, Coriander, Cumin etc." The spices are non-oil-extracted, so their essential oils stay in for a more intense aroma, and the masala is free from artificial preservatives and fillers. Two teaspoons season about 300 grams of fish fillets, and resting marinated fish for 15 minutes lets the flavour soak in. Per 100g it gives protein 17.69 g, total fat 19.80 g, carbohydrate 51.62 g, energy 455.4 Kcal and total sugars 5.71 g. The pouch carries the green VEG mark, FSSAI No. 11521998000267 and "Best Before :- 12 Months."; stored airtight in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, it keeps for up to 12 months.
