Kairusi green cardamom (Elakai, also spelt Elakkai) is a whole-pod spice for masala chai, payasam, kesari, biryani and baking, sold in 100gm and 50gm packs. Known as the "Queen of Spices", these pods come from the mist-covered hills of the Western Ghats and are hand-picked for their vibrant green colour and sweet, spicy, floral aroma. They are large, bold 8mm+ pods filled with mature, dark, oily seeds, with a high essential oil content for long-lasting fragrance. Gently sun-dried and 100% natural, they are ethically harvested and free of artificial colouring, polishing and chemical dyes.
