Swarna Rice, also called Mansuri rice, is a short-grain, cream-coloured Indian staple rice packed in a 30 KG bag marked "Old Rice". It is one of the healthiest staple Indian rice varieties: a rice research organization rates it as carrying a very low risk of diabetes, and it has a low glycemic index (GI). Swarna (Golden) rice is genetically modified to produce beta-carotene, which the human body converts into vitamin A when metabolized; vitamin A supports healthier skin, immune systems and vision.
