Automatic oil mill plant for crushing edible or non-edible oilseeds, offered in seven sizes from 3 TONS to 24 TONS crushing capacity per 24 hours. Bucket elevators and screw conveyors carry seeds and cake from one machine to the next. They take over the lifting and carrying that tires workers once a mill grows beyond a MINI OIL MILL PLANT of 1 decorticator and 1 expeller, which two persons can handle. Edible and non-edible oil each need a completely separate plant; only the boiler can be shared. Plants of 12 tons or more can crush 2 kinds of oilseeds at the same time, and customers prefer the 6 Tons and 12 Tons plants most. Automation applies to plants above 3 tons capacity. Where manpower is easily available at low rates, an owner may choose to run the plant manually. Capital requirement is as per proforma invoice plus working capital. For full extraction the seeds are crushed twice. The first crushing uses more steam heating and gives about 80% of the oil, leaving a cake about 10 mm thick with 12%-15% residual oil. The second expeller presses harder through its cake discharge cone, giving a cake about 3 mm thick with around 7% residue and the remaining 20% of the oil. Bucket elevators lift seeds and cake vertically to the expellers and suit medium to large mills. Each has a bottom intake section, a middle tank section that sets the height, and a top discharge section with an extended drive shaft; belt and chain types are offered. Screw conveyors move oilseeds and oilcake horizontally in bulk, using a shaft with a broad helical blade turning in a semicircular trough. They come in 8" and 10" sizes, and speed is changed by swapping pulleys. The maker builds and fits its own gear boxes, so after a long run only the small gears need replacing instead of the entire gear box. The teal-painted line includes expellers topped with cooking kettles and belt-driven flywheels, electric motors, inclined screw conveyors with drive heads, and a tall bucket elevator tower with a feed hopper.
