About radiator guard
On liquid-cooled and oil-cooled motorcycles, a radiator guard sits over the cooling core so stones and debris stay off the fins and tubes. Guards come as laser-cut steel or aluminium grilles, powder coated in black, silver, yellow or orange, and some carry a pattern or logo cut-out. Fitments include the KTM Adventure 250/390, Himalayan 450, Himalayan and Scram 411, Interceptor and GT 650, Super Meteor 650 and Yamaha MT-15. Buyers compare open area for airflow, sheet thickness, material, mounting method and finish. Riders who cover gravel or fast highways are the usual buyers.
Buyer's guide
What to check
- Check the open area of the grille so engine cooling stays efficient.
- Confirm the material (stainless steel, mild steel or aluminium) and sheet thickness in mm.
- Confirm the model and emission version fit, such as Himalayan 411 BS4 or BS6.
What to ask the supplier
- Ask whether it mounts on factory points with rubber isolators to damp vibration.
- Ask for finish options and colour matching to the bike.
