Silk on Silk carpet KTSLK-233, 180 x 290 cm, hand-knotted in pure silk in the traditional way in Kashmir. Its "GUMBAD" design is wonderful and unique, built from multiple motifs: a dome-like lattice of cells radiating from a central medallion, framed by wide borders and a navy outer edge, with cream fringes at both ends. This high-density, high-knotted single carpet has 576 knots per sq.inch and is pure silk throughout, foundation included. The piles sit at a 70 degree angle, so the colour shifts from a light to a dark shade from one side to the other. It is light weight and colour changeable, and weighs 11 kg.
