About inline fuse holder

When an accessory, lamp or audio circuit needs its own protection, an inline fuse holder places a single fuse right in the wire run. Holders listed here are 2-pole female types: 6.4 mm holders, MFT holders, Tata and Indica-pattern universal holders, and universal holders supplied with 40 A or 60 A fuses. Each is made for a set wire size, from 4 mm through 5, 6 and 8 mm. Buyers compare fuse type, maximum current, wire gauge, terminal material, cover sealing and vehicle pattern. They suit cars, trucks and add-on accessory wiring.

Buyer's guide

What to check

  • Match the fuse type the holder takes: MFT, standard blade or 6.4 mm
  • Check the wire size of the leads (for example 4 mm, 6 mm or 8 mm) and the current rating
  • Confirm copper or brass terminals with tin plating
  • Look for a snap cover or cap that seals out water and dust

What to ask the supplier

  • Ask whether a fuse comes fitted, and its amp rating
  • Ask for the vehicle pattern the holder matches, such as Tata or universal
