About automotive terminal

Every wire in a harness ends in a terminal that crimps onto the conductor and mates with a connector, switch or bulb holder. Terminals here span the 0110 series with 2.8 mm blades and the 0187 series with 4.8 mm blades, in male lock, male plain, side feed and zigzag designs, female dimple, slot and lock types, butterfly terminals and CDI strips. Buyers compare blade width, male or female form, locking style, the wire range in sq mm the crimp barrel suits, base metal such as brass or phosphor bronze, tin plating and fit with the matching housing.

Buyer's guide

What to check

  • Match the blade width (2.8 mm, 4.8 mm or 6.3 mm) to the connector series
  • Confirm male or female form and the locking style: lock, dimple, slot or flag
  • Check the wire range in sq mm the crimp barrel accepts
  • Check the base metal (brass or phosphor bronze) and the tin plating

What to ask the supplier

  • Ask for the matching housing and seal part codes
  • Ask whether terminals come loose-piece or on reels for machine crimping
