The Vikas All Geared Pillar Drilling Machine Heavy Duty is a 40 MM vertical pillar drill for drilling, reaming and tapping mild steel, cast iron, steel and other engineering materials in workshops, fabrication units, automobile industries, machine shops, production lines and maintenance units. Its maximum drilling capacity in steel is also listed as 40-50 mm. An all-geared mechanical transmission gives 8-12 speed steps (depending on model) from 90 to 1600 RPM, powered by a 3 HP/2.2 kW motor on 415 V (Three Phase), 50 Hz, with a standard electrical connection. The pillar-column body of cast iron and steel components, with anticorrosive paint, hardened components and a painted and powder-coated surface, is built for low vibration, accurate drilling, easy maintenance and long service life in continuous work. The 420 x 420 mm table rotates 360 degrees and is height adjustable by rack and pinion, with T-slots for clamping. The spindle has an MT-4 taper and 200 mm (approx.) travel, with 350 mm (approx.) from spindle centre to pillar and 1000 mm (approx.) from spindle to base. The base is 700 x 700 mm and the column 150 mm in diameter. It has push-button control, a centralized lubrication system, an electrical interlock, an emergency stop switch and provision for a coolant system, and suits an optional automatic feeder attachment for automatic or semi-automatic batch production. The machine is Industrial Green, measures approx. 900 x 600 x 2000 mm, weighs approximately 450-600 kg and works at 5C to 45C.
