Black pepper powder is finely ground Piper nigrum L (family Piperaceae, commercial part: fruit), a highly aromatic warming spice known for its sharp, hot and biting taste. Its superb flavour and bite are widely accepted, and the maker treats flavour as everything, with quality held to that standard. In North India pepper is used widely for the warmth and pungency it brings to vegetarian dishes; in South India it serves as a flavouring spice and in marinations for meat.
