Forged cuplock bottom cup, the lower half of the cup-lock joint on a cuplock scaffold standard. Fixed to the vertical standard, it receives the ledger and transom blade ends, and the top cup then locks down over them to hold the joint. This forged version is a deep, bowl-shaped cup in a plain grey metal finish, with notches cut into its rim where the blades seat. It is made in Ludhiana, Punjab, alongside the pressed bottom cup and the rest of a cuplock accessory range.
