Standard Fireworks (P) Ltd manufactures fireworks in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, including comets, cakes, fancy fireworks, flower pots, sparklers, rockets, electric crackers, chakkars, atom bombs and gift boxes, and sells them wholesale, retail and for export. India's largest fireworks manufacturer, the company began in 1942 as a modest safety-matches-making unit in Sivakasi under founder Shri. Yennarkay Rajaratnam. Its first directors were Shri. K.A.A. Sankaralingam, Shri. K.A.A. Arunachalam, Shri. A. Chelladurai and Shri. Yennarkay R. Ravindran. Through early years of struggle, strict legislation and fierce competition, its brands won a market foothold and grew into an Indian pyrotechnics giant. The management is now modernising the production line to achieve Global Standards. The catalogue runs to 179 products, with product codes from 008 to 982 plus a Z22–Z49 series. The largest families are comets (32, codes 294–978, such as "Kerala Beauty", "Paris By Night" and "1000 Gems in The Sky"), cakes (23, codes 316–982, such as "Speed 200", "Paradise 250" and "Music Party") and fancy fireworks (17, codes 018–668, including "Roman Candles", "Jumping Frog", "Magic Tree" and "Seven Shots"). Flower pots (14) run from "Flower Pots Big", "Special", "Giant" and "Deluxe" to "Jewel Pots" and "Mini Fountain" in red and gold. A "Premium" line adds cakes (11, codes Z22–Z49, such as "Aaditya 72" and "SAM 36"), chakkars (6, such as "TWIN SPIN" and "MEGA TWISTER"), novelties (5, such as "ROBO" and "SMILEY"), flower pots (2) and the "TREASURE BOX" fancy firework. Sparklers (8, codes 008–801) span gold, tri-colour, whistle, crackling, 5-colour and colour-change types, and rockets (8, codes 154–673) include "Silver Jet Rockets", "Rohini Rockets", "Parachute Rockets" and "Missiles". Atom bombs (6, codes 076–096), novel fireworks (6, codes 229–240) such as "Silver Twinklings" and "Fire Pencil", gift boxes (5, codes 444–499) such as "Titan", "Jubilee" and "Khushi", one-sound and two-sound crackers (4, codes 051–063), chakkars (4, codes 202–218), confetti (3), colour smoke (2) and roll caps (2) complete the list. Products are made by highly skilled craftsmen who know the trade, on sophisticated high-end machinery for reliability in quality and safety, and new products are added every year through continuous research and development. The company's vision sets out around 1000 products and revenue in excess of US 150 million by FY 2020, products complying with global standards and specifications and with the consumer safety standards of developed countries, affordable pricing, availability in exclusive and multi-brand stores across India, and maximum value and satisfaction for customers. Wholesale and retail outlets operate in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and open one month before Diwali. The company has been GST-registered since 2017, with the legal status Limited Company and Manufacturer as its nature of business, alongside factory, wholesale, retail, warehouse / depot, works contract, import and export activity, and it holds an IEC for exports.
