About rubber o-ring
O-rings are circular rubber seals that sit in a groove and squeeze between two surfaces to seal oil, fuel, air or water. Assorted O-ring kits for two-wheelers and three-wheelers bundle the sizes used in engines, carburettors, forks, brake systems and fuel lines, making them handy stock for service workshops. Each ring is defined by inner diameter and cross-section, and the rubber compound sets its resistance: nitrile for oil and fuel, FKM for heat, EPDM for brake fluid and coolant. Buyers compare size coverage, compound, hardness and the storage box layout.
Buyer's guide
What to check
- Check the size chart: inner diameter and cross-section in mm for each ring in the kit.
- Confirm the compound: NBR for oil and fuel, FKM for high heat, EPDM for brake fluid and coolant.
- Check hardness in Shore A, with 70 Shore A common for general sealing.
What to ask the supplier
- Ask which vehicle models and assemblies the kit covers.
- Ask for the sizes and pieces packed in each kit box.
