About pvc sleeve
Slipped over wires, cable ends, terminals and busbars, PVC sleeves insulate conductors, guard them against abrasion and identify circuits by colour. Sleeve rolls come in dull and shine finishes and many diameters, while busbar sleeves in red, yellow, blue and black cover copper and aluminium bars in panels and switchboards. Buyers compare inner diameter, wall thickness, dielectric strength, temperature rating, flame retardancy and colour consistency. Panel builders, motor rewinders, wiring harness makers and electrical shops buy them by the roll or by the metre.

What to check
- Check the inner diameter and wall thickness in mm against the wire or busbar size.
- Confirm the dielectric strength in kV and the temperature rating, such as a 105°C grade.
- Check flame retardancy and colour consistency across rolls.
What to ask the supplier
- Ask for the roll length in metres and the finish (dull or shine).
- For busbar sleeves, ask for the busbar width range covered and the voltage class.
