About cookware handle

Cookware handles are the grips fitted to pans, kadhais, saucepans, pressure cookers and tawas, letting cooks lift and pour hot vessels safely. Common materials are Bakelite (phenolic), stainless steel tube or cast handles, and wood, with side handles and long handles as the two main forms. They fix to the vessel by rivets, a welded bracket or a screw and nut. Buyers compare heat resistance, grip shape, fixing style, finish and fit to the vessel size. Utensil manufacturers buy them in bulk, and kitchenware shops stock them as replacement parts for household and commercial cookware.

Buyer's guide

What to check

  • Handle material and heat resistance (phenolic grade for Bakelite, SS grade such as 304 or 202 for steel)
  • Fixing method and hole spacing, matched to your vessel brackets or rivets
  • Length, grip profile and weight per piece

What to ask the supplier

  • Ask for samples to test fit on your vessel sizes
  • Confirm finish (glossy, matte, mirror polish) and colour options
  • Ask about minimum order quantity per design and packing per carton
