Light duty lathe machine, model "Standard Light Duty", for small workshops, tool rooms, maintenance shops, startups and educational institutions, with 165 mm centre height, 315 mm swing over bed and 725 mm admitted between centres on a 1370 mm bed. It handles turning, facing, threading, drilling and knurling for one-off jobs and small to medium batches, with a machining accuracy of 0.05 mm. The compact, free-standing machine needs about 1.8 x 0.75 m of floor space; overall size is 1520 x 700 x 1200 mm (approx.) and weight about 350 kg. Conventional, hand-operated manual controls give direct tactile feedback, suit operators of varying experience and training work, and keep initial cost lower than CNC. The four-way tool post speeds tool changes. Safety comes from an emergency stop, guards on moving parts, and overload relays and fuses. It swings 190 mm over the slide and 500 mm in the gap, on a bed 235 mm wide; bed width is also listed as 165 mm, swing over bed as 250 mm to 300 mm and distance between centers as 500 mm to 750 mm. The headstock has a 40 mm hole through the spindle and an M.T.-5 taper bore, also listed as a 30 mm spindle bore with MT3 taper. Spindle nose and size read 6, T.P.I. range 62 mm x 8, with a threaded/standard spindle nose and 8 to 12 spindle speeds. A 1 H.P., 1440 rpm motor drives it by V-belt with a B-52 headstock belt; power is also given as 1 HP to 2 HP, on 220V/440V, 50 Hz. The tailstock sleeve is 38 mm in diameter with an M.T.-3 taper and 125 mm travel, also listed as MT2 taper and 100 mm quill travel. The compound slide swivels 45-0-45 degrees; the cross slide is 175 mm X 400 mm, the carriage 375 mm X 400 mm, and top slide travel 125 mm. It has a 20 mm lead screw, a 150 mm threaded/nut-mounted chuck, 0.05 - 0.2 mm/rev traverse, a 75 dB noise level and a 5C to 45C operating range. The rigid cast iron bed and body are paint coated and listed in Blue & White; the machine has a white and light grey body over a dark grey tray, with red trim on the leg panels. Lubrication and cooling are manual, with an optional coolant pump, and daily lubrication plus weekly checks of belts, spindle and guards keep it in order. Each machine comes with 3-jaw and 4-jaw chucks, centers, a tool post spanner and a gear set. Minimum order is 1 unit, delivery takes 1 week, and the main export markets are Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
