Karpuram (camphor) tablets for pooja, sold in a 20 gms pack. The small white tablets are round and cylindrical, some slightly translucent. Camphor used to be made by distilling the bark and wood of the camphor tree; today it is usually manufactured from turpentine oil. People apply camphor to the skin to relieve pain and reduce itching, and to the neck and chest so that it can be breathed in to reduce the urge to cough. There is some good evidence to support these uses. Catalogue code: SIR10020
