HMS 2 scrap (heavy melting steel) is mixed ferrous scrap traded from Ludhiana, Punjab, as part of the ferrous metals range. It comes in large heaps of rusted steel: sheet pieces, plate offcuts, bent tubes, wire mesh, drums and cans, wheel rims and circular blades. There are also crushed fragments painted blue, green and red. Heavy melting steel scrap is normally charged into steelmaking furnaces and remelted into new steel.
