Brass scrap for remelting comes in two printed grades, "EBONY BRASS" and "BRASS HONEY". It is traded from Ludhiana, Punjab, as part of the non-ferrous metals range. The "EBONY BRASS" lot is a loose heap of brass rings, pipe pieces, fittings and small parts. Their surfaces are weathered, with patches of green tarnish. The "BRASS HONEY" lot is a mixed pile of yellow and dull-grey brass fittings, rods, tubes and small fixtures. Brass scrap like this is normally melted down and recast into new brass ingots, rods and castings.
