Woodpecker door knocker in solid brass for front doors and entrance doors, shaped as a bird perched on a tree trunk. The woodpecker is the striker: it pivots on a rosette-capped hinge and taps its beak against a raised strike block on the trunk, the ordinary way a door knocker announces a visitor. The brass has a bright polished gold finish with finely engraved feathers on the wings and tail and deep bark texture along the trunk-shaped backplate, which mounts flat against the door.
