About saddle stay
A saddle stay is a steel frame bolted to the rear of a motorcycle to hold soft saddlebags or panniers clear of the wheel, exhaust and tail lights. Each stay is shaped for a specific bike, with common fitments for the KTM Adventure 250/390, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Interceptor and Continental GT 650, and Hero Xpulse. Some combine the stays with a luggage carrier plate on top. Buyers compare tube diameter and thickness, powder coat finish, use of existing mounting points and clearance from the exhaust. Touring riders and accessory fitters are the main buyers.

What to check
- Confirm the exact model and year fit, such as Himalayan 450 or KTM Adventure 250/390.
- Check the tube diameter and wall thickness, and whether it is mild steel or stainless steel.
- Look for even powder coating, clean welded joints and clearance from the silencer.
What to ask the supplier
- Ask whether it bolts to factory mounting points or needs drilling.
- Ask for the load rating per side and the hardware included.
