PET flakes for recycling come in clear, green and blue colours and are traded from Ludhiana, Punjab.
The flakes are small, irregular, glossy chips of crushed PET plastic. The clear flakes are white and see-through, the green flakes are bright mid-green, and the blue flakes are a mix of light-blue and clear pieces. A further lot holds separate heaps of blue-tinted, pink-tinted and green see-through flakes. PET flakes are normally reprocessed into polyester fibre, sheet, strapping and new bottles.
