About self-aligning ball bearing
Two rows of balls running against a single spherical outer raceway give the self-aligning ball bearing its key ability: the inner ring, balls and cage can tilt to absorb shaft misalignment or deflection. That suits machines where housings are hard to line up exactly or long shafts flex under load. Sizes here run through the 1200 series and related light and medium sections, with cylindrical bores or tapered (K) bores for mounting on adapter sleeves. Buyers compare bore, outer diameter, width, bore type, sealing and clearance. Common uses are agricultural machinery, textile machines, conveyors, fans and line shafts.
Buyer's guide
What to check
- Bore type: cylindrical or tapered (K suffix) for adapter-sleeve mounting
- Bore, outer diameter and width against the bearing number (for example, 1205 = 25 x 52 x 15 mm)
- Permissible misalignment angle and seal type (open or 2RS)
What to ask the supplier
- Ask whether a matching adapter sleeve (H series) comes with K-bore bearings
- Ask for load ratings, limiting speed and clearance class
- Confirm brand, origin and batch marking
