About cylindrical roller bearing
Rollers in line contact with the raceways give cylindrical roller bearings high radial load capacity at good speed. Flange arrangements define the type: NU and N designs let the shaft move axially as it expands, while NJ and NUP designs locate it in one or both directions. Listings here run through the N200 range by bore size. Cages come in pressed steel, brass or polyamide, and full-complement versions carry the heaviest loads at lower speeds. Buyers compare bore, width, flange design, cage and clearance. Typical uses are electric motors, gearboxes, rolling mills, pumps and railway axleboxes.
Buyer's guide
What to check
- Flange design (N, NU, NJ, NUP) matched to whether the shaft floats or is located
- Bore, outer diameter and width against the number (for example, N205 = 25 x 52 x 15 mm)
- Cage material: pressed steel, machined brass (M) or polyamide (TN)
What to ask the supplier
- Ask for radial clearance class (C3, C4) for hot-running motors and mills
- Ask for dynamic and static load ratings
- Confirm brand, origin and that inner and outer rings are interchangeable across sets
