About ball thrust bearing

Designed for load that pushes along the shaft, a thrust ball bearing holds a caged ring of balls between two flat washers: a shaft washer and a housing washer. Single-direction types such as the 51100 and 51200 series take thrust one way; double-direction types add a third washer to take it both ways. They suit low to moderate speeds and purely axial duty. Buyers compare bore, outer diameter, height, cage material and washer finish. Common uses include crane hooks, swivels, rotary tables, steering assemblies, vertical pumps, screw jacks and machine tool tailstocks.
